History of Food: Some Historical Cooking Channels on Youtube

There are many great cooking demonstrations and videos on YouTube and many videos relating to historic cooking. Some channels are dedicated almost entirely to historic cooking (or at least have many videos dedicated to the food of a time period). These three are some of the best, most informative, and most mouth watering. Many of the recipes are easy and inexpensive to make, or, in some of the more difficult ones, can be adapted for a modern situation.
Great Depression Cooking with Clara
In 2007, 91 year old Clara started her YouTube channel showing viewers how to make money-saving Great Depression recipes. Clara passed away since recording the original videos, but during the quarantine, new videos have been been discovered and are being added to the channel. Each of Clara’s recipes and This is a great time to discover (or rediscover) Great Depression Cooking.

Townsends
Jas Townsend & Sons
Original 18th (and some early 19th) century cookbooks are used as the source for hundreds of unique recipes, including the channel’s most popular recipe fried chicken (from.a British cookbook) The historic food and goods shop was founded by re-enactor James Townsend in the 1980’s. Today the business is run by his son Johnathan who hosts the YouTube channel.
